What’s Inside a Glamping Tent at Ohoopee
"Is it really a tent?" It's one of the questions we hear most about glamping at Ohoopee River RV & Camp Resort.
Yes, it really is a tent. But it's probably not the tent you're picturing.
There's no sleeping bag on the ground. There's no wrestling with tent poles in the dark, and you won't wake up wondering why you thought camping was a good idea.
Our glamping tents give you the fun of sleeping outdoors with a lot more comfort. Think of it as camping with the hard parts taken out.
So What Is Glamping, Anyway?
Glamping is short for "glamorous camping." It's for people who love the idea of camping but would rather skip the setup, the hard ground and the sore back the next morning.
You still get the campfire, the sound of the river and the night sky. You just also get a real bed to come back to.
Every Tent Has Air Conditioning!
Let's get the big question out of the way: yes, a tent with air conditioning.
All 10 of our glamping tents have A/C. If you've ever tried to sleep through a Georgia night in a regular tent, you know why that matters.
Pick Your Tent
We have three styles of glamping tents, so there's an option for couples, families and campers who like to bring their own setup. Our tents vary in size and setup and can sleep anywhere from 2 to 6 guests.
The Cozy Canvas
Our Cozy Canvas has one king-size bed and is made for two. It's a great pick for a couple's weekend away.
The Grand Canvas
Bringing the kids? The Grand Canvas is our family-size tent, with a big bed plus a bunk. We have five of them:
One with a king bed and a twin-over-full bunk
One with a king bed and a twin-over-twin bunk
Three with a queen bed and a twin-over-full bunk
Inside, you'll find a sitting area, a round dining table and a coffee bar. Zip-down windows let the breeze in on cool fall nights, and a welcome snack basket is waiting when you arrive.
And let's be honest: the kids are going to fight over the top bunk.
The Bare Canvas
Love camping but want something sturdier than your own tent? Our four Bare Canvas tents give you the canvas tent, the platform and the A/C. You bring the rest of your gear and set it up your way.
It's a great middle ground between a tent site and a fully furnished glamping stay.
Step Outside Your Tent
Every glamping tent has a covered porch on the front, plus its own picnic table and fire pit.
Our furnished tents also come with a set of Adirondack chairs out front, which happens to be the perfect spot for morning coffee.
Want to cook out? Community grills are available. Just ask the office.
Built by Our Own Crew
Here's something a lot of people don't know: we built these glamping tents ourselves.
This spring, our crew started from the platform up and put every one of them together by hand. It took a lot of work, and we're proud of how they turned out.
Guests have been staying in them all season, and we love hearing what people think after their first night.
Good to Know Before You Book
Bathrooms: Glamping guests use our main bathhouse, just a short walk away. A new bathhouse closer to the glamping area is on our list of future projects.
Pets: We're pet-friendly everywhere else in the campground, including our cabins, but pets aren't allowed in the glamping tents. Bringing your dog? Check out our cabins, RV sites and tent sites instead.
Who Glamping Is Perfect For
Couples looking for a getaway that's a little different from a hotel.
Families with kids who want the camping experience (and the bunk bed).
First-time campers who want to try camping without buying all the gear.
Anyone who loves the outdoors but doesn't love sleeping on the ground.
All the Fun of Camping, Without Roughing It
A glamping stay gives you everything the campground has to offer.
Spend the day down by the Ohoopee River. Walk the property, let the kids play, or join in on one of our themed event weekends. When the sun goes down, light up your fire pit and enjoy the night sky.
Then head back inside, turn on the A/C and climb into a real bed.
Fall is one of the best times of year to try it. The evenings are cooler, campfire season is here, and Haunted on the Ohoopee is coming up October 23–25. Glamping is open for Halloween weekend, but it books up fast.
