Spend the Day on the River: All About Day Passes
You don't have to camp overnight to spend the day on the Ohoopee River.
Sometimes you just want a good Saturday. Some fresh air, some water and somewhere for the kids to run around.
That's what our day pass is for. It's a simple way to enjoy the campground for the day and head home that evening.
Here's everything you need to know.
What It Costs
A day pass is $15 per vehicle and covers up to 5 people.
That's per vehicle, not per person. So load up the family and the neighbors' kids too, as long as you stay at five.
What's Included
River access: Swim, fish or relax by the water
Bathhouses
The shaded playground
The walking trail
Free events: If something fun is happening, you're welcome to join in
Come for an afternoon or a full day. It's up to you.
Hours and the Gate
This part is important, so read it once.
Day pass guests come in during office hours, Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM.
You're welcome to stay until dark.
The gate closes at 5 PM, and there's no re-entry after that.
So if you leave to grab dinner in town at 6, you won't be able to come back in. Plan to bring your food and stay put, or make your trip a one-way one.
On event nights, we offer extended access. Check our events page or call to see what's coming up.
Dropping a Kayak or a Boat in the River?
Anyone parking for a river drop-off or pickup, or launching a kayak from the campground, needs a day pass too.
Who Day Passes Are Great For
Locals looking for a day on the river without the drive
Families who need something to do on a Saturday
Paddlers who are launching from the campground
Anyone curious about the campground before booking a stay
What to Bring
Sunscreen and bug spray
Water shoes for the river
Towels
Folding chairs
A cooler with lunch and snacks
Forget the ice? Our camp store has ice, snacks, frozen foods and more.
Bring the Dog!
Day pass guests are welcome to bring their pets. Keep them on a leash around the campground, and let them burn off some energy in our off-leash dog run.
Play It Safe at the River
The river is the best part of the day, so please be careful. River levels change. Read the river signs and check conditions before you get in. Swimming is at your own risk, so keep an eye on the kids.
Want to Stay Longer Next Time?
Once you've seen the river, you'll probably want to stay a while.
RV Sites: Pull in and stay for the weekend.
Tent Sites: A simple, affordable way to camp.
Cabins: A few more comforts of home.
Glamping: Sleep outside with a real bed and A/C.
