Bringing the Dog: Pet-Friendly Camping at Ohoopee

Your dog is part of the family. So of course they're coming camping.

At Ohoopee River RV & Camp Resort, we love pet parents. We love the wagging tails, the muddy paws and the dogs who figure out the campfire is the best seat in the house.

So if you're wondering whether you can bring your four-legged friend, the answer is mostly yes. Here's how it works.

Where Pets Are Welcome

RV Sites

Pets are welcome at our RV sites, and there is no pet fee. That goes for nightly, weekly and monthly stays.

Tent Sites

Bringing your dog along for a tent trip? Tent sites are pet-friendly too.

Cabins

Our cabins are pet-friendly with a refundable deposit.

  • The Bird's Nest welcomes pets with a refundable deposit.

  • The Beaver Den allows up to 2 pets with a refundable deposit.

  • The Coyote Den allows up to 2 pets with a refundable deposit.

Give us a call when you book and we'll go over the details.

The One Exception: Glamping

Pets are not allowed in our glamping tents. That includes the Bare Canvas. If your dog is coming, we'd point you to an RV site, a tent site or a cabin instead.

Just Visiting for the Day?

Day pass guests are welcome to bring their pets too.

Room to Run

We have a dog run on site, and it's an off-leash area, so your pup can stretch their legs and run free. If your dog has extra energy to burn, that's the place for it.

It's a great way to meet other dog owners too. Dogs make friends fast, and it usually leads to their people making friends.

A Few Simple Pet Rules

Good camping neighbors make for good camping weekends. Here's what we ask:

  • Keep pets on a leash or tie-out when they're outside your camper.

  • Use the dog run when they need to run and play off leash.

  • Clean up after your pet. Every time, every spot. All of our pet parents are expected to do it.

  • Keep an eye on them. Kids, bikes and golf carts share our roads at 5 MPH, and not every pet is used to that.

What to Pack for Your Dog

  • A leash and a tie-out

  • Food and water bowls

  • Their regular food

  • Waste bags

  • Their own bed or blanket

  • A favorite toy to keep them settled

Things Dogs Love Here

Morning walks along the trail. Quiet evenings by the fire. Sniffing everything. A river nearby.

Take a look at the river signs and conditions before you let anyone in the water, dogs included. River levels change, and we want everyone to stay safe.

Staying a Month or Longer?

Our monthly RV sites are pet-friendly too, with no pet fee. Your dog gets a long stay on the river as well.

Bring the Whole Family, Fur Included!
