Halloween is coming to the campground, and we're getting ready for one of our favorite weekends of the year!
If you've never spent Halloween at a campground, you're missing out on a whole different kind of fun. Imagine decorated campsites, kids running around in costumes, golf carts decked out for Halloween and trick-or-treating with your camping neighbors.
That's exactly what we're planning for Haunted on the Ohoopee, happening October 23–25, 2026, at Ohoopee River RV & Camp Resort in Lyons, Georgia.
It's one of our busiest and most anticipated themed weekends of the year, and we're looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
A Weekend Full of Halloween Fun

Pumpkin Carving
What's Halloween without a jack-o'-lantern?
Bring your creativity and get ready to carve! Whether you go with a classic spooky face, something funny or an elaborate design, we can't wait to see what everyone creates.
Campsite Decorating
This is your chance to go all out!
We're encouraging campers to decorate their RV sites, tents and camping areas for Halloween. Think spooky lights, skeletons, inflatables, cobwebs and whatever else your imagination comes up with.
Some campers keep it simple, while others turn their entire campsite into a Halloween display. Either way, walking around the campground to check out everyone's decorations is part of the fun.
Costumes for Everyone (Even the Dogs!)
Halloween costumes aren't just for the kids around here!
Whether you're going spooky, funny, creative or coordinating costumes with the whole family, we want to see them.
And don't forget your four-legged camping buddies. Dogs are welcome to join in the costume fun too!
Trick-or-Treating Around the Campground
One of the highlights of Haunted on the Ohoopee is trick-or-treating throughout the campground.
Kids can dress up, grab their candy buckets and make their way around participating campsites collecting treats.
It's a fun way to enjoy a Halloween tradition while getting to know your camping neighbors.
Halloween Golf Cart Parade
If you've ever seen one of our decorated golf cart parades, you know our campers can get pretty creative!
For Haunted on the Ohoopee, we're bringing out the Halloween decorations. Dress up your golf cart with lights, spooky decorations and whatever else fits your theme, then join the parade around the campground.
Whether you're participating or watching, it's always fun to see what everyone comes up with.
Creepy Karaoke at the Pavilion
Ready to show off your singing skills?
We'll be hosting Creepy Karaoke at the pavilion, where campers can grab the microphone, sing their favorites and enjoy a fun evening together.
Halloween costumes are encouraged, but singing talent is completely optional!
Halloween Fun for the Whole Family
One of the things we love most about Haunted on the Ohoopee is seeing campers of all ages get involved.
The kids have trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving. Adults can get creative with campsite decorating, costumes and karaoke. Families can enjoy the golf cart parade and spend time together around the campfire.
And between the scheduled activities, there's still plenty of time to relax, explore the campground and enjoy the outdoors.
It's a Halloween celebration with a little bit of everything, and you don't have to give up your camping getaway to enjoy it.
