A New Chapter Begins at Ohoopee River: Welcome to Ohoopee River RV & Camp Resort

If you’ve stayed with us before, you already know that Ohoopee River has always been more than just a place to camp—it’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and feel at home. And if you’re new here, we’re so glad you’ve found us. Either way, we’re excited to share some big news about where we’re headed next.

Ohoopee River Campground is officially becoming the Ohoopee River RV & Camp Resort.

This name change marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, including a transition in ownership and a renewed vision for the future. But before anything else, we want to reassure you: the heart of this place is not changing. In fact, everything we’re doing is centered around preserving what has made this campground so special since it first opened in 2018.

From the very beginning, Billy and Anna Willett built this campground with incredible care, intention, and heart. They created a space where families could gather, where kids could play freely, and where the natural beauty of the river could be enjoyed at a slower pace. That legacy is something we deeply respect and are committed to carrying forward. Billy and Anna will continue to have a voice in the direction of the park, and Megan will remain your campground manager—so you’ll continue to see the same familiar face and experience the same welcoming atmosphere that keeps so many of you coming back year after year.

So what is changing?

In short: we’re investing in the future of Ohoopee River in ways that enhance your experience, expand your options, and bring even more comfort and community to your stay.

Many of the updates you’ll begin to see are things that have come directly from guest feedback over the years. We’ve been listening—and now we’re excited to start bringing those ideas to life.

One of the first additions is our new off-leash space, “The Dog Run”, giving your four-legged family members a safe, dedicated space to stretch their legs and enjoy the outdoors just as much as you do. We know how important it is to travel with your pets, and this is just one step toward making their experience even better.

A dedicated space for every pup to play, roam, and enjoy the campground just as much as their humans.

We’re also introducing something brand new to the park: fully furnished luxury glamping units. These thoughtfully designed spaces will offer a unique way to enjoy the outdoors without sacrificing comfort—perfect for guests who love the idea of camping but appreciate a few extra amenities. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or hosting friends who don’t own an RV, these units will open the door to a whole new way to experience Ohoopee River.

Another exciting addition currently in progress is our community garden. This space is being designed with connection in mind—a place where guests can gather, contribute, and enjoy something together. It’s just one of several upcoming features focused on strengthening the sense of community that already makes this campground so special.

And we’re not stopping there.

Next on the list are enhancements to ourcommunity spaces, along with upgrades to the playground, creating even more opportunities for families to relax, play, and spend quality time together. Every improvement is being approached with intention: to add value without taking away the charm and simplicity that define the Ohoopee River experience.

We understand that change can sometimes bring uncertainty—but we want you to feel confident that this is a positive step forward. Our goal is not to reinvent Ohoopee River—it’s to build on its foundation. To take everything you’ve loved about your time here and make it even better, more comfortable, and more memorable.

For our returning guests, we hope you’ll see these changes as an extension of what you’ve already experienced—a continuation of the same welcoming, laid-back atmosphere with a few exciting upgrades along the way.
