A golf cart is one of the easiest ways to get around the campground.
Ride down to the river with your chairs. Run up to the bathhouse. Make a quick trip to the camp store for ice. A cart makes all of it a little easier.
But a campground is full of kids, dogs, walkers and campers backing in their rigs. So we have a few rules that keep everyone safe.
Here’s what to know before you turn the key at Ohoopee River RV & Camp Resort.
Carts Follow the Same Rules as Cars
This is the big one. Golf carts follow every road rule that cars do.
That means:
Stay at 5 MPH.
Follow the one-way roads.
Stay on the roads. No driving on the grass or through campsites.
Our roads are narrow, and people walk on them all day. Going slow gives you time to stop for a kid on a bike or a dog who wandered off.
Drivers Must Be 16 or Older
If you’re behind the wheel, you need to be 16 or older. No exceptions.
We know the kids would love a turn. They can ride along and pick the route.
Driving After Dark Is Fine
You can drive your cart after the sun goes down. Just remember that carts are transportation, not toys.
A slow ride back from the fire to your site is perfect. Laps around the campground at night are not.
And keep quiet hours in mind. They run from 10 PM to 7 AM, so keep the music low and the horn quiet once it’s late.
Want to Rent One?
We have golf carts for rent. They’re a great way to get around if you’re staying in a cabin or glamping tent, or if you just want an easy ride to the river.
Ask the office about availability and pricing. You can also call ahead at 833-646-6733.
Good Places to Ride
Once you’re rolling, here are a few spots worth the trip:
The river: Bring your chairs, a cooler and the fishing poles.
The playground: It’s shaded, so the kids can play while you sit.
The camp store: Firewood, ice, snacks and s’mores supplies.
The dog run: An off-leash spot for your pup to stretch their legs.
